Following the success of the original Air Traffic Controller (ATC) introduced late 2003; Lunagames has now confirmed that the all new 2007 edition will hit the market late 2006, featuring ground breaking Web to Mobile features enabling users to make new levels online and play them from their mobile instantly.
The original version sold over 400.000 copies worldwide with spin-off titles like ATC Night Flight and ATC Crazy Planes released in the following years. Kitty Brown, VP at Lunagames explains: “We believe that the success of ATC was mainly driven by the original now referred to as ‘one-thumb’ type game-play, combined with the popular theme of large Aircrafts”.
Although ATC07 will stay true to its unique one-thumb style game-play Lunagames has put allot of new features in the game to add to the overall experience, including:
- Day and night missions
- No fly-zones
- Hot air balloons
- Emergencies “May Day, May Day”
- Various Aircrafts, including jets, props, and airliners
- Weather conditions including clouds and wind effects
- System malfunctions
- 50 missions (levels)
- User generated content: Make your own levels online and upload them to your phone for endless fun
Lunagames is currently in the final phase of play testing in which the game-balance is perfected and the new Web to Mobile features are enhanced. Dennis Medema, Head of Game Design comments: “The ability for gamers to make their own levels through the online level editor has really shown to be a great differentiating game feature. We’ve seen that people sharing the game with friends is near three (3) times higher by enabling user generated content as apposed to our regular games tested”.
